The Challenge
It’s a constant battle: us versus financial crime. Fintechs and payment providers are increasingly challenged by fragmented data systems and the sluggish pace of integrating compliance solutions—barriers that hinder the proactive fight against financial crimes. As regulations tighten and fraud tactics grow more sophisticated, the speed of integration and the ability to adapt have become as critical as the system’s capabilities, serving as key factors for organizations striving to stay ahead.
Before Flagright, Sciopay was plagued by AML solutions with fragmented data systems, slow compliance integration, and inability to adapt to evolving threats.
To uncover how these challenges are being addressed, we spoke with Igor Gajosinskas, Co-founder and Head of User Experience at Sciopay, and Madhu Nadig, Co-founder and CTO at Flagright, about how Sciopay leveraged Flagright’s platform to reinvent its compliance and fraud prevention strategies.
Flagright’s exceptional customer support has played a pivotal role in facilitating the expansion of our AML operations. They efficiently address all our requests.
Sciopay is an FCA-regulated fintech revolutionizing global payments by democratizing access to advanced payment technologies, such as multi-currency IBANs, 0% deposit forwards, and local settlements in over 150 jurisdictions. Sciopay enables businesses to manage currency risk effectively, maximize profitability, and offer branded global payment solutions.
Sciopay partnered with Flagright to establish real-time transaction monitoring, with a specific focus on a strong solution for payment approvals. A reliable system with a fast response time for transaction processing was a key expectation, as Flagright’s role served as a critical success factor for their business.
Integration Experience
Sciopay and Flagright kicked off the integration process with collaborative technical discovery sessions between their teams. Supported by Flagright’s technical expertise, Sciopay began the implementation by conducting initial data mapping and developing the integration with Flagright’s API.
Igor Gajosinskas, Co-founder of Sciopay, shares how integrating Flagright’s API streamlined technical processes and enabled effortless mapping of internal entities into a flexible schema.
Since temporarily suspending payments for manual approvals and blocking was vital to Sciopay’s operations, Flagright designed a user-friendly payment approval module specifically tailored to their needs. On Sciopay’s end, this involved implementing webhooks to enable automatic notifications of payment status changes, empowering the compliance team to manage all tasks smoothly within Flagright’s console without toggling between platforms.
After the integration was established, the teams moved on to sandbox testing. Flagright supported with valuable guidance on mapping optimizations and resolved discrepancies to ensure uninterrupted data flow, which could later serve as inputs for rule engines and risk-scoring models. One significant advantage for Sciopay was gaining perpetual access to the sandbox environment, allowing them to thoroughly test both initial implementations and future developments before rolling out changes to the production environment.
